A Roadmap for the Journey Ahead

by Kona Lisa Mahu

Many people who encounter the teachings of the Correcting Time ask a simple question:

“Where do I begin?”

The answer is not found in a single book, transmission, workshop, or conversation. Growth is a journey—one that unfolds through experience, reflection, service, and an ever-deepening relationship with Spirit.

Over the years, teachers associated with the Teaching Mission have repeatedly emphasized certain themes that support personal and social transformation. Although these teachings have been shared in many ways and through many voices, a recognizable pattern has emerged. Again and again, students are encouraged to develop a deeper understanding of universal values, strengthen their spiritual awareness, cultivate ethical leadership, and contribute to the well-being of their communities.

In response to this recurring guidance, members of the Teaching Mission community recently organized these themes into a two-year learning framework called the Syllabus for Comprehensive Training in the Values and Principles of the Teaching Mission. While not intended as a rigid course of study, the syllabus serves as a roadmap for those who wish to explore the deeper foundations of personal growth, spiritual maturity, and social sustainability.

At its heart are seven universal values that have become central to much of the work of the Center for Planetary Management:

  • Life
  • Equality
  • Growth
  • Quality of Life
  • Empathy
  • Compassion
  • Love

These values are not presented merely as ideals to admire. They are intended to be lived, practiced, tested, and integrated into daily decisions, relationships, leadership, and service.

The syllabus unfolds in two broad stages.

The syllabus unfolds in two broad stages.

The first year focuses on foundations. Participants explore the purpose of the Correcting Time, the meaning of the Seven Core Values, the development of mind, spirit, and soul, and the qualities of values-based leadership. The emphasis is on personal transformation—learning to align one’s inner life with higher principles and spiritual guidance.
The second year expands outward into practical application. The focus shifts to families, communities, ethical leadership, social responsibility, and the role individuals can play in helping create a more sustainable and compassionate world. Participants are encouraged to move beyond personal growth and become active contributors to positive social change.

What makes this approach unique is its integration of spiritual growth and practical action. The teachings consistently remind us that enlightenment is not an escape from the world but a preparation for meaningful participation within it. Growth is measured not only by what we understand, but by how we live.

For readers of Planetary Pulse, this new “Foundations for Growth” section will serve as an ongoing exploration of these themes. In future issues, we will examine individual modules, core concepts, and practical applications drawn from this framework. Whether you are new to these teachings or have been studying them for years, we hope these articles will provide useful signposts along your own journey.

The world is changing rapidly. Yet amid uncertainty, one truth remains constant: sustainable progress begins with the development of individuals who choose to live according to enduring values.
Perhaps that is where every journey begins—not with having all the answers, but with a willingness to grow.

Humanity is entering a period of profound transition.

Around the world, people are questioning systems, institutions, and assumptions that once provided stability and direction. Rapid technological change, political polarization, ecological instability, economic uncertainty, and increasing social fragmentation are creating a growing sense that humanity is being asked to evolve—not only externally, but internally as well.
