Greetings, dear reader,
Welcome to Planetary Pulse Magazine.
Every meaningful journey begins with a question. Some ask, Who is God? Others wonder, Why am I here? or Is there more to life than what I can see? This magazine was born from those same questions—and from a lifelong search for answers.
I was born in the Philippines during the post-war baby boom, in a culture deeply shaped by faith, family, and the enduring Filipino spirit. My education in Catholic convent schools nurtured within me a reverence for God and a lifelong curiosity about the deeper meaning of life. Like many Filipinos, I also grew up with the familiar expression “Bahala na”—a quiet trust that when our own strength reaches its limits, we can place our lives in God’s hands.
Yet my questions remained. I read the works of saints and mystics, searching for a clearer understanding of God and our purpose on Earth. Then one day, with the world suddenly accessible through the Internet, I typed two simple words into a search engine: “Word of God.” I had no idea that this small act of curiosity would begin a journey that continues to this day.
That search eventually introduced me to writings on Divine Love, the spiritual nature of humanity, and later, The Urantia Book, whose expansive vision of the universe offered me a new way of understanding God, creation, and humanity’s place within the cosmos. What touched me most was not simply its description of a vast universe, but its affirmation that every person is accompanied by the loving presence of God. Whether one accepts this teaching or not, I found in it a profound assurance that none of us ever walks through life alone.
Over time, my journey continued through the teachings associated with the Teaching Mission and the works of Dr. Daniel Raphael. Together they gradually transformed my understanding of spirituality. I came to see that authentic spiritual growth is not merely about acquiring knowledge or embracing new beliefs.
This understanding has also changed the way I see the world around us. Our societies face extraordinary challenges—conflict, inequality, environmental pressures, rapid technological change, and uncertainty about the future. Yet every crisis also presents an opportunity to grow. Lasting change begins not only with better institutions but with transformed individuals. Before civilizations evolve, hearts and minds must evolve.
Like all of us, I continue to discover how easily old habits, fears, and assumptions shape the way I think. Spiritual growth often requires us to examine those patterns with honesty and humility. It invites us to expand our understanding, to develop wisdom alongside knowledge, and to become increasingly responsive to truth, beauty, and goodness. Perhaps this inner transformation is one of humanity’s greatest challenges—and one of its greatest hopes.
That is why Planetary Pulse Magazine exists.
It is not here to tell you what to believe. Rather, it is an invitation to explore the questions that unite us all. Together we will examine spirituality, science, philosophy, ethics, governance, education, family life, and human development—not as isolated subjects, but as interconnected dimensions of our shared human journey.
Whether your path has been shaped by religion, science, philosophy, or personal experience, I hope these pages encourage you to think deeply, ask courageous questions, and remain open to new discoveries. If there is one lesson my own journey has taught me, it is that truth unfolds progressively for those who sincerely seek it.
Ultimately, the greatest adventure is not simply discovering new ideas. It is awakening each day to another opportunity to walk alongside our brothers and sisters, learning the wisdom of living together as children of one loving Father. Every act of kindness, every sincere search for truth, and every choice rooted in love helps us co-create a more compassionate, just, and sustainable civilization for generations yet to come.
